(The recipe book just contained name of Highest Court Lady read it before). According to legends, it’s recipe book that passed thru generations of Highest Court Lady, so it’s the most sacred books among all the sacred books. But when Geum Young looked at it….. no wonder even after Lady Choi read it, she still cannot overtook Lady Han’s cooking skills.
“Lian Sheng, lately my tongue inflated, and I can’t talked properly…”
Jang Geum saved uncle Duk Gu life by tasting the poison herself, but she herself lost her sense of taste, to recover, she stimulated her tongue with various scary methods. Finally, she recovered after treating with bee acupuncture, but there was a side effect…
“I know you’re bad person even on first sight, even the supper I hide you also want to steal!”
After monitored Jang Geum for a long time, Ling Ro finally found that Jang Geum hide some letters in the garden. Today, she wanted to take it out to get praise from Lady Choi, but idiot remembered the wrong place, and took out other’s things instead.
“Master, be patient. She is going to get your pulse soon.”
Jang Geum had to do acupuncture for the enemy’s head under their demands. However, she still cannot overcame her anxiety, and beside there was fiery enemy who was so scaring, her hand slowly started to shake…
“Jang Geum, don’t go. Please stay at Jeju Island”
After Jang Geum been exiled to Jeju Island, she always remembered the wish of Lady Han - that’s return to the palace. So she thought of every way to run away from Jeju Island, although been caught every time, she never gave up. But this time, Min Jung Ho is worried…
“I told you not to eat so many duck!”
Jang Geum and Lady Han been victimised and let exiled to Jeju Island, uncle Duk Gu swear that he will proved their innocent. So, continuously for 3 months he ate duck with sulphur non-stop, but he not even not getting poison, even now could swim naturally…
“The smell on this book is same with the smell on your socks. You stole the book.”
To understand the sickness of King Jungjong, Jang Geum risked her life to steal the King’s medical record book from the palace library. She inserted the book into her sock, went outside the palace every night to copy the book, for 3 days 3 nights. She didn’t get the time to wash herself…. so finally she was exposed by investigation department…
“Ming Dynasty called our investigation department as internal security factory. Come chit chat when have time.”
In order to force investigation department to investigate Jang Geum, Lady Choi offended Master Shang Shan, and she got bad luck since after. She didn’t even know that the guy that looked honest everyday was actually officer in internal security factory. Want to regret also too late.
“I dreamed somebody ride on my back and hit me, really scary.”
When Jang Geum was about to be executed, the illness of the King became better, but still cannot see anything. Jang Geum has to use massaging as the last resort. After one whole day of massaging, the King finally awake and see the light, and he said…
“Ming Yi, you really have lots of ideas, Lady Choi had bite…”
After realizing she couldn’t control the situation anymore, after praying in front of the tomb of Ming Yi and Lady Han, Lady Choi planned to surrender herself. She wanted to protect Geum Young to continue the fight … But when went down the hill… After all, you need to pay back if you play…
“Just now the Great Queen walking in the park, suddenly this fell from sky…”
King Jungjong lose to Min Jung Ho in the archery competition to get the heart of Jang Geum. He pointed the arrow to Min Jung Ho, wanted to kill him. However after consideration the King shoot the arrow with lots of anger and hatred to the sky. However, after all it’s still an arrow with anger and hatred…
“I trust your medical skills, but can you just change another knife?”
After Jang Geum left the palace, she never forgot the idea of surgery, she believed this is workable, although not acceptable by the people. She slowly gathered experience, and listened to others’ opinions…

the story is different from the ordinary koreanovela that focuses more on love stories of the character…
there is a mix of korean history that includes some of their customs and traditions…
the characters really portrayed their cgaracters very well…
i really loved the character of LADY HAN and COURT LADY JEUNG (MADAM JEUNG)
some political issues were also evident in the story that makes it a one of a kind masterpiece…
eventhough i haven’t watched the first few episodes as well as the future episodes, i know that the story will even be more worth watching…
bravo to the people behind this masterpiece!!!

i love jewel in the palace. Even I sleep late everyday it’s worth it I really love lady han she’s very good actress and also jang-geum. For me its one of the no.1 telenovela ever nothing can ever beat it. THE BEST

This is really extra ordinary drama that I admire. Every episode worth watching for. Aside from Jang Geung, I like the role of Lady Han because she potrayed a strong, decipline, and intelligent woman with a big heart.

I really love Yang Mi Kyung as Han Sang Gung.She is so emotional and really potrays the character well..I wnt to see you personally.I’m a just a very ordinary filipina and an admired you very much Yang Mi Kyung.You are famous here in the phillipines.I wish to see you in person but i do not know how would it be.Yang Mi Kyung i hope you read my message for you.

Mi kyung unni is not only an excellent actress, her personality every bit is as beautiful as Han Sang Gung’s. She is my favorite character! But I like the entire drama, kudos to Dae Jang Geum!

th story is rili great..i watched it everyday..i used to sleep in da afternoon to watch it in the evenind..jang geum is rili pretty she caught my brothers eyes..en get our attention at first i dnt like it because of kitchen thing..but my brothers show it 2 me..thanks to him..now i have an excuse why im stil up late..hehe..aja
