Looks and more Ji Jin Hee

Just like his character Min Jong-ho in last year’s South Korean hit drama Jewel in the Palace, Ji Jin-hee is a man of few words. During a recent 15-minute phone interview with the good-looking actor, every question was met with a concise (and almost trite) answer.
The only time during the humdrum interview where he surprised us with his sense of humour was when he was asked who between co-star Takeshi Kaneshiro and he was better looking.
“I am,” answered the father-to-be (his wife is expecting their first child soon). “I am manlier than he is.” Everyone burst out laughing.
Ji was calling from Hong Kong where he was promoting Perhaps Love. Ji, who is also the story’s narrator, portrays a modern day Cupid, descended on Earth to explore the meaning of love, and in the process mends the estranged relationship between two long-separated lovers.
Asked if he believes in angels (seeing that he plays one), Ji admitted that he is a believer “although I don’t think their power is great because the world has many sick and unhappy people.”
Is he happy then? “Yes, I am. There are moments when I am sad but I try to keep an optimistic outlook on things,” Ji said, adding that one of the things that makes him happy is when his work as an actor receives good comments.
Well, this 34-year-old mechanical engineering major will be delighted to know that he has been getting glowing feedback from director Peter Chan and co-star Jacky Cheung.
Chan commended on his professionalism while Cheung praised his singing skills. Ji, who learned Mandarin from scratch, delivers several Chinese numbers in the movie.
“Well, he (Cheung) couldn’t possibly have said otherwise, can he?” quipped Ji.
“I had the opportunity to hear him sing and he is fantastic.”
Ji’s role was initially offered to Andy Lau, who turned it down due to his busy schedule. Chan then contacted Ji, who flew to Hong Kong three days later for auditions.
“It was an interesting character and I got to work with a good director and cast,” explained Ji on his reasons for accepting the part.
“I had a happy experience working with everyone and learned a lot, especially how the other actors analysed and prepared for their roles.”

its one of a kind korean drama…….it really touches my heart and soul….. i really like the role of lee young ae as dai jang geum it really fits her characteristics……i really love it ………..

Yes, DAe Jang Geum got me soo hooked on korean History and Culture. Now I want to learn more. I love Ji Jin Hee and how he portrayed the role of Min Jung Ho. You can feel the kind of love he has for Jang Geum is soo pure that it’s actually ok for him to die jst as long as Jeng Geum gets credit for being the great doctor that she was in that old times when women were considered inferior to men. The story is really an inspirational piece and all must watch this.

I’m Taiwanese, but I moved to Canada 6 years ago. After watching Dae Jang Geum, I really want to move to Korea. I really like both Ji Jin Hee and Lee Young Ae’s characters in Dae Jang Geum. For me, I think everything in Dae Jang Geum is the best..the actors, the music, the songs,the stories, the love, the views…Thank everyone in it for producing such a wonderful drama.

Bu dizi mükemmel başka hiçbir tanımı kabullenemiyorum.Konusu harika ,oynayanlar yüreklerinin bütün güzelliğiyle sanatlarını ortaya koymuşlar,bu filmin yönetmeni mesleğinin o kadar ehli kurt ki bir dizi yalnızca bu kadar güzel icra edilir.Kendilerini ne kadar övsek azdır.Seyrine doyamadığım bu dizi hayatımın akışını ve dizi anlayışımı altüst etti.Ama bundan memnunum.Onları seviyorum.Sevgilerimle..İrfan ER…İstanbul…TURKİYE

jewel in the palace is according to me d the best drama…..not only becoz of its story n plot but becoz of the superb acting by lee young ae, ji jin hee n others…..jangma portrays d best personality of a women n min jang ho portrays d best personality of a man ever i have seen….and two great things that it teaches apart from a beautiful display of the culture and traditions of korea are: 1.God helps those who help themselves…..AND
2. A happy person is not the one who has everything but the person that makes the most of everything he has……since jangma lost her mother, father n even court lady han who was jus like her mother but still found out her own ways to live life with hope n happiness……ITS JUST THE BEST DRAMA OF ALL TIME…….and both lee young ae and ji jin hee are my favourite actor and actress….^_^
