Top Korean Drama Stars To Visit Brunei
March 19, 2006Local Korean TV drama fans will soon be able to meet with two top Korean stars from the popular drama Series “Jewel in the Palace”, Miss Mi Kyung Yang and Miss Jeong-Eun Cho from 24th until 26th March 2006.
The government of the Republic of Korea appointed Ms Mi Kyung Yang as its Special Envoy of Friendship to Brunei Darussalam in conjunction with the 1511, Anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relationship between Asean and Korea.
Ms Yang is a very popular actress featuring as a senior court lady in the famous Korean TV drama “Jewel in the Palace” who was a patron as well as a cooking teacher to “Jang Ceurn”, the heroine of the drama. Ms Cho Jeong-eun, meanwhile starred as the child “Jang Geum” in the drama.
Ms Yang and Ms Cho are expected to arrive in Brunei Darussalam on 24′h March. Upon their arrival, Mr Kwang Won-Kun, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam will be hosting a welcoming reception at the Indera Kayangan Ballroom, The Empire Hotel on the same evening, at 7.30pm.
Members of the public are also invited on a first-come-first-served basis, with up to 100 seats allocated. To sign up for the invitations, members of the public can contact the Korean Embassy at 2330248, 2330249 or 2330250 from 9am this coming Monday (2011, March).
Meanwhile, fans who miss out on the welcoming reception don’t have to worry, as Ms Yang and Ms Cho will be hosting a meet-the-fans session on 25th March from 5.30pm till 7pm at The Mall in Gadong. Brunei Fans will be able to meet face-to-face with both Korean actresses and get an opportunity to have their autographs.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei Darussalam in a press release expressed their firm belief that “the Friendship Envoy’s visit to Brunei Darussalam will further strengthens the friendly relations between the Republic of Korea and Brunei Darussalam, deepening the mutual understanding of each other’s culture and art.”

Many Filipinos are going bananas about “Palace…” Unfortunately the local TV station, GMA Ch. 7, is mangling the episodes, showing only 34-36 minutes every time. Worse, half of this is devoted to commercials. Imagine, watching Jian geum for only three minutes to be followed by six to seven minutes of advertisements! Infuriating!!! At this rate, it will take more than two seasons to complete the series!

Phil. wild about “Palace…” But GMA TV is showing only 16-18 mins. of “Palace…” episode and 16-18 mins. of commercial. Are they allowed to do this?

hi,My Whole Family Members and Relatives .loves this movie.Last night We have a Family Party in my Causin ’s house .As sooon as ,jewel in palace was started ,all the family comes toghether in front of TV.I live in Iran.I’ve heard Lee Young -Ae will be here for Fetr cermony.is it right?
